This duo has only been working together for a little over a year, but the creativity that they produce is amazing!
ELENA ANDREWS, AIFD | INN FLORALS MANAGER
Elena has over 30 years of floral design experience, working her way through college and beyond in the family business, Four Seasons Flower Shop in Poway . She has studied under several respected teachers including Rene van Rems and Phil Rulloda. Through the years she has won numerous floral design awards, been featured on design panels, participated in Art Alive at the San Diego Museum of Art and has been a member of the prestigious American Institute of Floral Designers since 1988.
Throughout here career she makes a point to attend AIFD symposiums to keep abreast of the latest trends in floral design, including the latest symposium, “Imagine” held in San Francisco in July 2011. Elena was also a part of a design team of 25 elite floral designers who participated in a week long symposium hosted by internationally recognized floral designer Rene van Rems at his Rene van Rems Design Studio in Vista, CA. The purpose of the symposium was to create the fashion forward, unique and distinctive bridal bouquets featured in his new full color book – Rene’s Bouquets for Brides.
MARISSA WHITE | INN FLORALS DESIGNER
Marissa comes from a pastry background with an abundance of natural talent allowing her to thrive in her position as Elena’s assistant. The concept of creating a floral department at Rancho Bernardo Inn was presented to her in February of 2010 and with hestiating, she took on the adventure. ”It is a wonderful outlet for my creativity and I am learning so much from Elena,” says Marissa. Marissa is also attending classes to become a Certified Floral Designer and hopes to one day join Elena as a member of the prestigious American Institute of Floral Designers.
