Avant at Rancho Bernardo Inn (17550 Bernardo Oaks Drive, San Diego. 858-675-8550). What was El Bizcocho restaurant has been transformed into a restaurant that seems like it is in the heart of wine country. Great farm-to-table menu, with some of the best cheese and charcuterie boards in the county. Executive chef Nicolas Bour creates amazing dishes, and did I mention they are the only restaurant in the U.S. that has seasonal house made mustards on tap. Try the New Caledonia blue prawn with crispy Sweetbread, Squid Ink Linguini and Madeira Jus.
