Driven by an innovative blend of decadent French and new American dishes, Chef Christopher Gentile’s AVANT plays host to a refined and elegant dining experience. The progressive Chef’s Tasting Menu transcends the ordinary, showcasing a variety of creative culinary techniques utilizing the world’s finest ingredients and seasonal produce from an on-site garden.
The guest experience at AVANT is brought to a crescendo by sommelier Joe Baumgardner who has curated an award-winning wine cellar for the restaurant, and offers the perfect pairing for each course. AVANT’s glass-enclosed cellar offers a unique exploration into limited production wines from across the globe, as well as biodynamically farmed selections. AVANT’s cocktail program, created by mixologist Jason Sorge, serves up imaginative libations ranging from light to direct, all complemented by playful presentations and artistic touches.

The bar is brought to life with a crudo bar display and station, showcasing the freshest seafood of the day. A crudo bar chef will serve you-be-the-judge tastings and walk guests through various pairing options.
We’re On Tap – Beer and Wine
We’ll have eight beer selections on tap, including a good number of local selections like Mission Brewery, Stone, Coronado, and Ballast Point. Six wines on tap means utilizing re-usable wine casks, skipping the need for bottles, corks, cases and labels. Whether by the sip or by the carafe, the first time oxygen touches the juice is when it hits your glass.

With the right equipment and attention to detail,” says Rob Mondavi, Jr, 4th Generation Napa Valley Winemaker, “wines on tap can provide exemplary wine with a much smaller and greener footprint. We’re pleased to be showcasing our Franciscan Estate Chardonnay through AVANT’s program. Rich with bright fruit, evoking apple gallete and plenty of toasty oak notes creates the perfect balance in this exciting wine.
Working Wine Room
AVANT will feature a working wine room that is visible from three sides. Three of the four walls are made of glass so you can see inside as your bottle of wine is taken right from the rack.
The patio at AVANT has three sides open to lush golf course views, red-tiled roof overhead and stacked stone fireplace. Enjoy true Southern California living with a gentle breeze and an inviting fire.
